3 Months To Go!!

It's crazy to think that I leave for Peru in just three months! I am so excited for this wonderful experience! I know that I will grow a lot as a person in just those short six weeks. It will be both a hard and an amazing adventure.

In the meantime, I have been getting vaccines, my passport, doing tons of paperwork, learning about Peru, and working like crazy on my Spanish. (If anyone has any tips on learning Spanish, I would love to know!) I can't wait to be helping people and experiencing a new culture!

What does HELP International do?

Quite a few people have been asking me what HELP International does. Well, their mission is "to empower people to fight global poverty through sustainable, life-changing development programs." They seek to empower people through projects that focus mainly on public health, education, and entrepreneurship/business. These projects aid in co-creating local change. These videos explain it much better than I can! Enjoy!

Welcome to my blog! I started this blog so that my family and friends could follow my adventures in Peru. If you have ever seen the movie The Emperor’s New Groove, which is set in Cusco, Peru, the title of my blog should make sense. If you haven’t seen it, you must watch it! No excuses!

Anyways, this summer I will be going with HELP International to Peru for six weeks to do humanitarian aid. I couldn’t be more excited! I love serving people, and I know that going to Peru is the next step in my life. I report to Peru on May 12th, and until then, I will keep you guys posted on my preparations for this exciting "new groove" in life!
